About VIP item jpg files

A Tamagotchi-iD download file is a JPG with an additional data package appended. The Exif (exchangeable image file format) specifications allow for the presence of custom data arrays after the EOI (end of image) marker. When opened for viewing on a PC or cell phone, the image stored before the EOI marker is shown. The Tamagotchi-iD uses only the data after the EOI marker.

The custom data (after the EOI marker) will be deleted / destroyed if the download file is ever edited on a PC using photo editing software.

The custom data (after the EOI marker) will be deleted / destroyed if the download file is hosted on a photo hosting site such as photobucket.

There is no way to recover the custom data after it's been deleted / destroyed.

How to download VIP items via infra red

This is how it should work:

On your cellphone, navigate to http://tama-id.com (this site works only for cellphones, and only in Japan.)

Select the item or minigame you want from the site. Download it to your cellphone. It will arrive as a .jpg file.

Using your cellphone's file manager, navigate to the Pictures folder. Select the downloaded .jpg, then click the "more" or "menu" button (depending on the model cellphone you have.) From the menu, select "Send via IR" (infrared) or "Send" then from the send menu, select "via IR".

On your Tamagotchi-iD, activate the connect (heart-shaped) icon in the upper right corner. From the connect menu, select "download" (it's the bottom entry on the first page.) Point the Tamagotchi-iD and cellphone's IR connectors towards each other. The pink standby screen should change to red, then you'll see the item or minigame arrive on the Tamagotchi-iD. If the screen changes to blue instead, then a communication error has occured; try again.

P.S. the downloaded .jpg files can be shared to other Tamagotchi-iD owners (hint hint) but to do so: (1) don't ever edit them. Editing them will corrupt the data. (2) they need to be sent via email as an attachment, or shared using a file hosting site such as depostfiles.com. If posted on a photo hosting site, the data will be corrupted.

Please note that these codes are for the Japanese-language Tamagotchi iD ONLY. 

Here is a list of all Tamagotchi iD codes I know so far. When I find more, I will post them on this topic. 

To enter a password, activate the connection (heart) icon in the upper right corner. A two-page menu will appear. Password is the top entry on the second page. When you select Password, a sub-menu displaying two options will be shown. For passwords consisting of numbers (0-9), select the top option. For passwords consisting of leters (A-Z, and spaces), select the bottom option. If the password is less than 10 letters long, fill in the empty places at the end with spaces.

The eight McDonalds menu items above are not food that can be consumed. After any of these passwords have been entered, an entry for "McDonalds Bag" appears in the treasure chest menu. Activating it shows a catalog of the item(s) you've entered. When one is selected, Makudotchi appears, pulls the item out of a McDonalds paper bag, then asks a question about it. After a moment, Makudotchi provides the answer, pops the item back into the bag, then leaves.

Description for eco bag: 
When the password is entered into your Tamagotchi-iD, an Eco Bag is added to Special in the Treasure Chest. When used, your Tamagotchi-iD character goes out into her/his front yard. The three Ecousatchi appear, spread some seeds and then water them. A row of small flowers appear along the bottom of the display. The colour of the flowers seems to be randomly selected. If you re-use the Eco Bag, the flowers' colour may change.

Tamagotchi iD - Tamatomo

The English meaning for Tamatomo is Tamabuddy.
On the Tamagotchi iD, the Degree of Friendship bar has initially one coloured segment. After your Tamagotchi iD character has become an adult, the bar can be extended by up to four more coloured segments. (For a total of five segments.) A coloured segment is added for each of the four Japanese letters, Ta, Ma, To, Mo that you earn. You can earn these letters by performing certain actions with your Tamagotchi iD character. Sometimes there is more than one way to earn a letter.

Once you've collected all four letters, you get the friend stamp for your current character. (Duplicate stamps will not be issued.)

If {all four letters are lit up} and {at least some of the right-most coloured segment of the friendship bar is filled in} and {you have at least two friend stamps} then your character can travel to Friends Plaza, and meet other previous friends you've raised. Also, there will be a special surprize outside your Tamagotchi home when {you have at least five friend stamps}!

The actions you have to perform to earn the Ta, Ma, To, Mo letters are different for each Tamagotchi iD character.
